​About the project
I'm Not Coming Back was my first short film made in 2019 through the lens of youth, passion and my genuine love for the years spent growing up in my high school. The film was screened at an event held for students and alumni reunion, where it received an extensive applause and brought tears to many viewers.
My approach for this project was simple: Reminiscing and Relatable. I'm Not Going Back gave the audience a story that includes love, friendship, drama, and the truest representation of the time and space that everyone had given 3 years of their life to. Combined with carefully crafted and immersive cinematography utilizing the unique look from the Meopta Meostigmat lens, the film is the earliest evidence of my ability to create high-quality, artistic image while still retaining purposeful storytelling.
The project also marked my first experience with running a promoting campaign for the film, producing film posters to distributed both offline and online prior to the screening date. As a result, I'm Not Going Back received city-wide engagements from many high schools and universities as it was aired on Facebook, generating more than 2,000 reactions and 50,000 views.
